In 2023, after many years working as a commercial digital photographer, I began tinkering with antique photographic processes.
It has been a VERY steep learning curve, requiring lots of research, trial and error and getting my hands on some fairly antique cameras and lenses.
That said, it has rekindled a passion for analog photography that I hadn’t felt since working in my home darkroom in the late-90’s.
I’m old enough to remember the pre-digital era of photography, but not old enough to recall wet plate collodion (1850’s), dry plate (1880’s) and orotones (1920’s), all of which I am working with currently.
I don’t quite know where this ‘hobby’ will take me, but I sure am enjoying the ride.
Examples of my alternative process work below. I’m in the process of setting up a a link to buy some of these unique pieces.
